This is an enzyme derived from a Japanese food named Natto which has been used for many years to treat vascular and heart diseases. It is made by fermenting boiled soybeans by adding a valuable bacterium called bacillus natto.
The nattokinase enzyme is similar to plasmin which is produced in the body and is the reason why it is very effective in fighting blood clots. It dissolves fibrin which is one of the proteins related to clotting.
The research conducted on this enzyme shows that it is very effective in treating strokes, angina, varicose veins, hypertension, chronic pain and inflammation, infertility, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, soft tissue rheumatism, retinal pathology, thrombosis, poor healing and peripheral vascular disease.
Nattokinase should only be used after you have consulted your doctor especially if you are on any anti-coagulants, coumadin or any other medication or herbs that are used to thin the blood. Take one nattokinase capsule with or without food and always ensure you take some few ounces of water.
