Lutein, together with Zeaxanthin, are compounds called xanthophylls.
They are related to beta carotene that gives carrots their orange color. These xanthophylls are found in large amounts in the retinal and lens of a person’s eye. They primarily work as antioxidants to protect the eyes from free radicals which if they interact can cause damage to the healthy tissue. They also help to protect the eyes from high energy blue light. They do this by filtering the blue light.
Lutein for the eyesight is available in 20 mg, Zeaxanthin 800 mcg and 60 Lutein Zeaxanthin Capsules. The lutein supplement is of the highest quality and it is proved by the certificate of analysis.
