Betaine-hcl pepsin (0231)

Betaine-hcl pepsin

Betaine-HCL pepsin: Why do we feel so full for so long after a big Thanksgiving Dinner of roast turkey? Turkey being very high in protein, requires a lengthy time frame to break this protein down for digestion.  Stomach acid (Hydrochloric Acid) gets the signal, "protein on board" and increases the production of this stomach acid. This is a normal function of digestion.  When there is too much HCl (stomach acid) or too little stomach acid, we get what we call, indigestion.

Our medical profession writes scripts everyday for acid blockers and anti-acids, without trully spending the time to give a proper diagnosis.

The symptoms of over-production and under-production are essentially the same.  Betaine HCL and pepsin  are components of gastric juices and they release nutrients for absorbtion and the biological break-down of ingested food. There function together is to render the ingested food soluable for absorbtion, while giving off in the correct biological manner, vitamin B12 and iron.
